In 2016 Fim do Caminho held a national short story competition, a homage to Henning Mankell, the Swedish author of Wallander who died this year and lived for twenty years in Mozambique.

Young and aspiring Mozambican authors writing in Portuguese were invited to submit a story of no more than 2000 words on the theme ‘crime in Mozambique’. The winners were selected by a panel of Mozambican authors in June 2016.

An anthology with the best stories from the competition will be published in late 2016 in Portuguese and in 2017 in English.
